About Us

API is a national trade association representing over 400 corporate members involved in all aspects of the oil and gas industry. API Chapters are self supporting, autonomous local industry organizations. Teche Chapter adheres to API chapter guidelines and pursues activities and programs of interest to local members.

We hold a bi-monthly meeting which features an industry speaker usually related to trends and activities in the industry. In addition to speakers, we raise and distribute funds to support educational activities in our area. Some of our fundraisers include the Big Bucks Raffle, usually held in March. We have joined some of the Texas chapters as host of the API Team Roping circuit and this event has been held in January of the last few years. We also distribute funds to students at the University level, some scholarships are directly through the University and others are distributed directly to the dependents of Teche Chapter members.

In addition to raising and distributing funds, we hold a bi-annual Regulatory Forum to keep our industry aware of and involved in the latest regulatory issues. Normally our forum includes speakers from the State and Federal regulatory agencies along with discussion and training sessions. All of our events have detailed explanations and forms here on our site.
